Vinarius, the Italian association of wine shop owners, visits Cantele

Cantele was thrilled to host a group from Vinarius this week, the Italian association of wine shop owners.

That’s winemaker Gianni Cantele (above, right) speaking to the group, including some of the top wine retailers in Italy today.

Vinarius counts more than 100 wine shop owners across Italy and abroad as its members. It provides them with a robust networking mechanism and it promotes wine education as well. The trip to Salento and their winery visits there was a great example of its mission: connecting likeminded wine professionals and allowing them to trade information and experiences while tasting new wines and learning about local winemaking practices.

But Vinarius also maintains high ethical standards and “best business practices” for the industry at large and it requires its members to adhere to the association’s charter.

The wine shop owners are the immediate beneficiaries of the group’s mission but ultimately, it is the consumer who benefits the most from the group’s efforts. Wine lovers who shop with Vinarius member wine retailers are assured of the provenance and high quality of the products they buy.

Thank you, Vinarius, for taking the time out to visit Cantele! You play such an important role in our industry and we were thrilled to host your group!
