Paolo hits the road in the U.S.: A dispatch from the excellent Bocce in Miami

bocce-miami-best-italian-restaurantCantele Winery export manager Paolo Cantele is “working the market” over the next few weeks here in the U.S.

We’ll be following him here on the Cantele USA blog and you can also get even more timely updates on the Cantele Facebook (which is revving back into high gear, btw).

He was in Miami yesterday where he visited the beautiful Bocce Ristorante, an east coast standby for truly authentic Italian cuisine. Whenever he comes to America, Paolo is always impressed by how the love for true Italian cooking only continues to grow here. And Bocce is no exception for the new high standards for regional Italian cookery in North America.

Here’s what the Miami Herald had to say about Chef Nunzio Fuschillo:

“Energetic, lovable Nunzio Fuschillo is the third chef to lead the kitchen of 2-year-old Bocce. And he appears to be the right fit, lifting the restaurant to a 3-star Miami Herald review in December by showcasing the rustic comforts of Italian cooking.”

“Fuschillo’s fresh mozzarella, housemade pastas and hand-tossed pizzas benefit from the effort and care that go into traditional cooking methods. He rotates in specials — like an untraditional white lasagna with potato, gorgonzola and pancetta — and keeps them on the menu based on what his guests are responding to. He also has one of the more entertaining Instagram accounts of Miami chefs, alternating posts of kitchen shots and downtime with his newlywed wife, Bourbon Steak pastry chef Patty Lopez.”

Check out his Instagram here. We’re already hooked!
