“OG chef juice.”
It’s shorthand for original gangsta chef’s wine, in other words, chef Steve’s original favorite wine to drink when he gets off work.
To this day, chef Steve’s favorite wine to drink at the end of his shift is Cantele Rosato from Negroamaro.
It’s been on the wine list there since the restaurant opened more than four years ago. Other wines by Cantele have also made and continue to make appearances there, like the Amativo and the Salice Salentino and Negoramaro.
Los Angeles magazine recently called the wine program at Sotto “one of the best places to drink Italian wine in Los Angeles.”
Over the years, Cantele wines have racked up a lot of accolades.
But one of the ones we are most proud of is original gangsta.
