This week, we received a Facebook message from a good friend in Seattle who let us know that her family’s favorite pizzeria, Tutta Bella Neapolitan Pizzeria in the city’s West Lake neighborhood, has just added our Salice Salentino to its wine list.
It’s incredible to think that for people in their mid-40s (ahem, like us) can still remember a time when pizza in America was relegated mostly to the “New York style” with a smattering of “deep dish” and “Sicilian” on the side.
Today, from New York and New England and even Miami all the way to Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco and Seattle, the tide of “authentic” and “certified” Neapolitan pizzerias is astounding. And the quality of the pizza is truly thrilling.
Just look at the Margherita in the image from Tutta Bella’s Facebook above. If we didn’t know any better, we’d venture to guess that that photo was snapped somewhere south of Rome. But it’s from a time zone with a nine-hour difference. Incredible and wonderful!
Cantele is proud to be part of the American-Neapolitan pizza revolution.
Thanks to Christine B. for sharing the news!
