Italic in Austin, Texas: One of the newest and coolest Italian restaurants in America

Even seven years after it officially became America’s “it” city, Austin’s hip factor hasn’t waned a bit.

In fact, the city — the “Live Music Capital of the World” and home to the South by Southwest music and media festival — has only become cooler over the last few years.

The launch of the Circuit of the Americas race track and the arrival of Formula 1 racing has only made the central Texas city even more cosmopolitan as more and more travelers come from across the world to experience this truly unique American city.

The restaurant scene has exploded there as well over the last five years. One of the most recent additions to the vibrant food culture there is Italic, a new Italian restaurant from celebrated Texas chef Andrew Cullen, who already had a long track record of smashing success in the River City (as it is known to locals).

Italic’s menu is focused on authentic “rustic” Italian cuisine and its wine list is curated by one of the leading wine experts in the country, Master Sommelier Craig Collins.

The restaurant just opened last month and the buzz so far is great. We can wait to check it out, especially because they serve Cantele Salice Salentino on their all-Italian (and truly awesome) wine list.
