Cantele rolls out a new label: Fanòi

You may remember that we posted a few weeks ago about a Cantele “mystery wine.”

We’re happy to report that the mystery will soon be revealed.

This week, Cantele finally launched its new label Fanòi, a modern-style IGT Primitivo that’s already getting rave reviews from those who have had the opportunity to taste it.

Cantele marketing director Paolo Cantele hasn’t released any photos of the new bottle yet but he’s been publishing a series of evocative images and lyrical texts for the occasion.

You can find them on the Cantele Vini Facebook, together with passages composed by Luisa Ruggio, one of the most exciting avant-garde writers in Italy today.

When does fire become an ember? When does a prayer become a whisper? When does an atmosphere become a wine? The circle of a magical winter in a borderland is a ring of flames that enchant whomever watches them. Like the intense reverberation that a glass of “Fanòi” unleashes together with its naked soul….

The winery still hasn’t decided whether or not this small-production expression of Primitivo will be making its way to the U.S. But we’re looking forward to tasting it at Vinitaly next month and reporting back. Stay tuned!
