Vetri: when food is theater and theater tastes sublime

It’s hard to find the superlatives to adequately describe the experience that is Vetri in Philadelphia. Words fail to convey the extraordinary meal that we enjoyed last night there. Here are just some of the dishes we were served by the superb staff…

doggy bone

Marrow served on a bread “bone” and topped with bottarga.

seafood medley

Seafood medley. The calamari literally melted in your mouth.

spinach gnocchi

Spinach gnocchi. The kitchen’s mastery of classic Italian gastronomy is unparalleled in the U.S.

casoncelli

Casoncelli, the classic filled pasta of Bergamo. Again, the kitchen’s knowledge and skill with classic Italian cooking was thrilling.
